Ethereal, Romantic, Mystical - Ariana Ost

Ariana Ost

Jewelry Designer

How did you get into fashion design?

I have always adored fashion and am marveled by its history and glory. I connected most with fashion growing up in New York and traveling to Paris and London with my father. My father ran a jewelry business so I was exposed at a young age. For college, I went to Parsons School of Design and I knew design in the fashion space was my calling.

What’s the story behind the creation of the Ariana Ost label?

I started the Ariana Ost label in 2016 as a brand to reflect my lifestyle and passions. I am a jewelry designer by trade and am a mom, homemaker and yogi in my personal life so I merged them all. I now design jewelry for the home and table and have entered the wellness space as well. I started the brand to reflect my style through a jewelry approach to design, I named the brand Ariana Ost as a tribute to my late mother whose maiden name was Ost. I am business partners with my father so this is a family business through and through. The DNA of the company is design through a lens of warmth and hospitality.

What is the Ariana Ost design aesthetic in three words?

Ethereal, Romantic and Mystical.

As a designer, what are your major influences?

I am influenced by lifestyle trends such as health and wellness, inspired by cities and culture, and learn most from art history.

What is your design philosophy?

My design philosophy is to take inspiration from unusual places and interpret them in a fresh way. I love challenges and creating the unexpected. I like to have a certain branded touch and consistency across a wide space of objects.

How would you describe the typical Ariana Os wearer?

The Ariana Ost wearer has a unique attention to detail and appreciation for something special. There is a palpable sensitivity in our designs and we love to find clients who appreciate the nuances in the collection.

Tell us about your latest collection

My latest collection has been creating accessories for the wellness and yoga space, athleisure has been such a trend but the accessories and decor have not been as current or evolved. I want to create decorative objects with deep meaning that can elevate the everyday experience for our audience. The pieces we create are functional and have a very modern aesthetic to make them fresh and intriguing.

What are you currently working on?

I am working on expanding our tabletop decor collection into more serve ware and offering functional pieces in addition to decorative ones. Cooking is one of my greatest passions and I love how food brings people together so I want to have more conversation pieces for the table.

What can we expect from Ariana Os over the next few years?

We can expect to grow into our design categories and build out our offerings across children’s, tabletop, home decor, and wellness. I want to keep designing as my life evolves into imagining more jewelry-like objects that have an emotional impact and keep our audience inspired. We are trying to evolve and be mindful of the designs we create to make sure each one has a purpose and feels special, we want our pieces to be cherished as modern day heirlooms that are timeless.
