Balenciaga ends relationships with casting directors after models report mistreatment

Casting directors Maida Gregori Boina and Rami Fernandes allegedly left 150 models in a dark room for several hours for a Balenciaga casting. This event hit the news when James Scully publicly addressed the incident by posting to Instagram (see below for his post).

"Yesterday at the Balenciaga Casting Madia & Ramy (serial abusers) held a casting in which they made over 150 girls wait in a stairwell told them they would have to stay over 3 hours to be seen and not to leave. In their usual fashion they shut the door went to lunch and turned off the lights, to the stairs leaving every girl with only the lights of their phones to see. Not only was this sadistic and cruel it was dangerous and left more than a few of the girls I spoke with traumatised... "

The post has been shared among the fashion community and numerous famous fashion figures are speaking out about it. This incident comes to show how the fashion industry, which many perceive as being glamorous and exciting, also has a very dark side. You would never think that the models you see on the catwalks  for a top fashion houses like Balenciaga would have had to endure such a torturous experience to get there. It is therefore very important that more people such as Scully speak out about the true reality behind the scenes of this supposedly "flawless" world, in order for this to stop.
